The Course Tools project set out with an ambitious goal to apply the anticipated outputs of the Kuali Student project to the curriculum development efforts of the University of Cambridge through the example of the Natural Sciences Tripos – renowned for its complex interdependencies. With hindsight, we bit off more than we could chew, a problem exacerbated by slow delivery of the Kuali Student project. However, a lot of useful work has been done in support of curriculum delivery and in preparation for curriculum change. The project has resulted in much greater confidence among senior members of the University in the role technology can play in enhancing the student experience and supporting curriculum design.
