Introduction
The Jisc Transformations programme was aimed at supporting institutions to deliver organisational change through the application of existing Jisc, and other, resources. It was aimed at staff contributing to the delivery of business change, underpinned by ICT, in one of the following areas:
- Enhanced student experience
- Improved efficiency and/or cost savings
- Enhanced organisational capability for Business and Community Engagement (BCE)
- Improved environmental performance
Enhanced student experience
Enhancing the student experience is focused on organisation wide initiatives that will significantly transform the student experience, through the application business led approaches and assisted uptake of previous Jisc work.
Improved efficiency and/or cost savings
These organisational change and system integration projects make best use of various approaches and technologies – some of which are available as Jisc resources – that institutional senior managers are investing in as effective information management solutions to organisational efficiency.
Enhanced organisational capability for BCE
This strand is intended to enable institutions to enhance their organisational capability for strategic BCE institution-wide, by using appropriate Jisc resources (and others) to develop areas of particular benefit to BCE, such as business intelligence, virtual communication and relationship management.
Improved environmental performance
Improving environmental performance projects are using a number of resources that have come out Jisc’s Innovation programmes in the area of Green ICT. Environmental improvement will, of course, often go hand in hand with other efficiencies and in corporate social responsibility and reputational issues.
